PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP: It Takes a Village: In and Beyond the NICU
Friday, April 20, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Going home after weeks and months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit stirs up happiness and stress simultaneously for parents. Once home these babies and parents often encounter health, growth and feeding challenges. Health care professionals in the community are often perplexed as to how to guide these families.
For the first time in Calgary, a mini workshop will be offered to support parents and community health care professionals caring for babies after the NICU hospitalization. Parents will hear practical advice to manage the challenges at home. Parents with premature babies, late preterm babies, and sick newborns of any gestation are invited. Community health partners are encouraged to join the workshop to hear tips they can share with their clients. Together we will build an informed village to support babies and families after NICU discharge.
HEALTH CARE PROVIDER: $75
PARENT (rate subsidized CPBF): $25
Registration fees include participation in the workshop, refreshment breaks and a light lunch.
Registration fees are subject to applicable taxes (5% GST).
